What is Vitamin K2 (MK-7)?
Contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal blood clotting. Works synergistically with Vitamin D3 — the two should always be taken together.
Why MK-7 (MenaQ7™)?
MenaQ7® MK-7 is the most bioavailable and longest-acting form of vitamin K2, with a half-life of approximately 72 hours — enabling consistent once-daily dosing and sustained activation of bone and vascular proteins. The MenaQ7® trademark identifies the specific patented extract behind the majority of K2 clinical research.
What are the benefits of Vitamin K2 (MK-7)?
Bone mineralisation (osteocalcin)
K2 activates osteocalcin, the protein that binds calcium into the bone matrix. Without sufficient K2, osteocalcin remains inactive, and calcium cannot be efficiently incorporated into bone.
Normal blood clotting
Vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting. K2 also activates Matrix Gla Protein (MGP), a vitamin K-dependent protein involved in calcium metabolism.
D3 synergy
Vitamin D3 upregulates calcium absorption and osteocalcin production, while K2 activates the proteins that use that calcium correctly. The two vitamins work as a pair — D3 increases the demand for K2 activation.
